The AVTA Leadership Team consists of representatives that are elected by the more than 900 teachers, counselors, and nurses in the Antelope Valley Union High School District.
The Executive Board
The Executive Board consists of the President, the Vice President of Political Action, the Vice President of Membership, the Treasurer, and the Secretary.
The Grievance Chair and Negotiations Chair are also members of the Executive Board however they are non-voting members. This means when a message is sent out that the Executive Board voted on a particular issue, that the decision was made by five people representing the entire district; the President, the Vice Presidents, the Treasurer, and the Secretary. And then, only if all are in attendance at that vote; there is no minimum required for an "Executive Board" decision.
